Hull Playgoers' Society relies on its members to bring to life the written word.  The responsibility does not rely on the Director and Actors.  Without the support of the Backstage Crew the Play will not get off the ground.

Backstage crew are an essential part of the team and although they never appear to get the applause of the Play, they are the foundation stones of the play.  The Director who wants to put a vision into reality is not the magician.  There are meetings to discuss what is going to happen and how the vision can be brought to reality.

The Actor is not just learning lines and putting themself into a character.  They could well be involved in stage setting, properties, assistant stage manager. (To be continued)
